At certain times, language feels insufficient to deal with the horrors of reality. In this song, I try to get under the concrete semantics of language, to reach a raw state of expression, a formless mass of residues that hide behind speech and singing. It brings to mind the famous notion of Ferdinand de Saussure that "psychologically our thought - apart from its expression in words - is only a shapeless and indistinct mass".
